Kimono Challenge #2 – Your dearest kimono item(s)

The kimono challenge questions are:

2. Your dearest kimono item(s).

This is a tough question as I have MANY pieces I adore dearly.  Rather than doing a huge post, I’m just going to concentrate on the top three kimono.

The one closest to my heart would be the kimono I got married in:

I am also particularly fond of this piece, which was one of my first Taisho purchases:

Which I wear often with a black shusu obi with embroidered tsuzumi, which was a very special gift from my taiko senpai for sewing and costume assistence at the annual taiko concert.

And while I could go on all day posting more kimono, I’ll just post this last one. My ro lily komon:

I first wore this when I was 9 weeks pregnant, we didn’t yet know if we were having a boy or a girl. We had a girl. Her name is Lily 🙂
